Based in Homer, Alaska, Don Pitcher is available for wedding photography throughout Alaska and beyond. He has more than 20 years experience as a professional photographer, and is a member of Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI), the leading wedding photographers’ association. His wedding images have also appeared in several recent editions of Alaska Bride & Groom magazine.
Don Pitcher shoots in a photojournalistic style throughout your wedding day, while also providing more traditional family and wedding party portraits. He always takes time to photograph the bride and groom alone on a beach or other location where they can savor romantic time together. These are often the most memorable images from your entire wedding day! As a photographer, Don strives to be as unobtrusive as possible during the ceremony and reception, while making sure to be there for all the special moments. Having fun is a big part of your day, and Don works with you to capture the beauty, spontaneity, joy, and romance of your wedding. Don is the primary photographer at all weddings, but often has assistance from Aziza, his budding-photographer daughter. (At age 14, she is already a published photographer!)
Don Pitcher works with the latest Canon digital cameras and photo software (including Photoshop and Lightroom) to create stylish and cutting-edge images. All photos are carefully edited and color-corrected, and selected images receive additional attention, including creative and distinctive enhancements that reflect the beauty of your wedding. This isn’t Grandma’s wedding photography!
Don will be happy to work with you to meet specific interests such as black and white images, distinctive settings (boats, planes, horseback, and more), or offbeat requests. After all, this is your Big Day, so why not make it truly unique?
All wedding photography packages include:
• A copyright-released DVD of your wedding photos, with hi-resolution versions for printing, plus a second set of smaller images for emailing to friends or posting on Facebook.
• A unique showcase slideshow of your wedding photos with music. This show is posted online (see a sample here), and some packages include a high-definition version—viewable on your TV or computer—on a separate DVD.
•All your final wedding photos are posted online at Pictage (the premier wedding website) where friends and family can view them and order their own prints. Don also uploads selected images to a Facebook album that can be linked to your personal Facebook page.
• In addition to the above features included in all wedding photography packages, some packages also include engagement sessions, up to 12 hours of photography, beautiful hardcover lay-flat wedding albums created from your edited wedding images, canvas gallery wrap prints, distinctive image boxes, and other options.
